Project Scope

MCA Engineering was engaged by a valued customer to design, manufacture, assemble and test specialised rope handling infrastructure for a major shaft project in an underground mining operation.

The project required the development of a customised system to support safe and efficient handling of shaft conveyance rope installation, inspection, and maintenance activities. MCA’s in-house engineering team using robust design practices drawn from 20+ years of experience ensures the equipment integrates seamlessly with existing equipment while meeting strict safety and operational requirements.

MCA’s scope included detailed engineering design, validation of equipment design loads, structural fabrication, hydraulic and electrical supply culminating in a robust trial assembly and factory acceptance testing within our workshop prior to delivery. This approach ensures all components meet site specifications, performance requirements and on demand availability once mobilised.

Through close collaboration between engineering, workshop, and customer requirements, MCA delivers a practical, purpose-built solution engineered to support complex rope maintenance activities in a demanding mining environment.
