Project Scope
MCA Engineering was engaged to provide the complete design, procurement and construction of a new caisson shaft as part of a critical underground services upgrade. The shaft was required to be installed safely within a constrained urban environment, with strict controls around ground stability, public interface, and construction efficiency.
The project involved the design and installation of a segmental caisson shaft, including cutting edge placement, collar installation, ring assembly, jacking, sinking, excavation, and construction of the reinforced concrete base slab.
Drawing on MCA’s extensive shaft-sinking capability, the team delivered a fully engineered solution that combined precast technology, controlled excavation, and precision jacking systems, ensuring safe installation and long-term structural integrity.
