Project Scope
MCA was engaged by Newmont Mining to supply and install x 3 Ore Pass Silos. MCA Engineering was tasked with designing all temporary works to support the installation.
These works included:
- Design x 3 Ore Pass Silos 8m to 4.5 diameter
- Design a multi-deck conveyance stage to suit an 8m diameter
- Shaft conveyance through Strand Jacks
- Remote controlled twin HLX5 Rock Drills
Strand Jack System
- Supply and factory Acceptance Tested S418 and S185 Strand Jack System
- S418 System comprised of x 4 Jacking units c/w supporting Hydraulic Power Packs
- Lifting capacity of 418 tonnes each
- Strand re-coilers configured to achieve a of 117 lineal meters
- S185 System comprised of x 4 Jacking units c/w supporting Hydraulic Power Packs
- Lifting capacity of 185 tonnes each
- Strand re-coilers configured to achieve a of 105 lineal meters
Universal Head Frame
- Designed to span from 4.5m – 8 shaft diameters
- Strand Jack Mounting configuration of both S418 or the S185 Strand Jack Systems
- Available to suspend up to 200 tonnes
