Engineering a Purpose-Built Rope Handling Solution for Underground Mining

MCA Engineering was recently engaged by a valued client to deliver specialised rope handling infrastructure for a major underground shaft project. The scope included the design, manufacture, assembly and testing of a customised system to support critical rope installation, inspection, and maintenance activities within a mine shaft.

Drawing on more than 20 years of industry experience, MCA’s in-house engineering team developed a robust solution designed to integrate seamlessly with existing equipment while meeting strict operational and safety requirements. The system was engineered to ensure safe and efficient rope handling within the demanding conditions of underground mining operations.

MCA’s scope of work covered detailed engineering design, validation of equipment interactions, structural fabrication, and the supply of hydraulic and electrical systems. Prior to delivery, the equipment was fully trial assembled in MCA’s workshop to confirm performance, site compatibility and readiness for mobilisation.
